Malcolm MacGregor Photography

Malcolm MacGregor is a landscape photographer whose work has taken him to remote places in countries like Alaska, Scotland and Oman. He was brought up in Scotland, Malaysia and the USA. He joined the Scots Guards in 1980 and served with the 6th Ghurkas in Hong Kong. On completion of his service with the Army in 1997,  he went on to do an MBA at Cranfield School of Management. Two years later, he became a full time landscape photographer.

‘Wilderness Oman’ was his first book. It features the remote and untouched regions of the country and was published in 2002. Exhibitions in London and Muscat followed. His second book, ‘Rob Roy’s Country’, covered the landscapes that the legendary Scottish clansman inhabited and was published in 2003. ‘Light over Oman’, a collection of 20 photographs as a limited edition portfolio, was produced in December 2004. Another publication, 'Landscapes of Scotland' – a portfolio of 20 photographs as a limited edition run of 250 - is available from Ptarmigan Publishing.

His most recent book 'The Outer Hebrides' was launched at the Wigtown Book festival in October 2007.

His limited edition prints of landscapes from remote areas of Oman, Scotland and Alaska are held in private collections, in the Troubadour Gallery in London, and the Bait Muzna Gallery in Muscat.

He is currently on a photographic assignment with the HALO Trust, a humanitarian mineclearance charity with operations in Africa, Asia and Europe.

Malcolm MacGregor lives in Scotland and he is Chief of Clan Gregor.
